Isabel and I are hanging out this morning. I have her asleep in her Combi (Combination rocker, cradle etc...).Isabel is definitely food motivated. Cirque was the same way, except that I had much better results training Cirque than I've had thus far training Isabel. I don't expect her to be the same of course; after all Cirque is a dog. :)
I say this because she's packing on about a lb. per week:
Leaving the hospital: 6 lbs 8 oz
Two week apt. from leaving: 8 lbs 6 oz
1 month old: about 11 lbs.
More precisely 11.2 lbs (.1 lbs = 1.6 oz) or 11 lbs 3.2 oz - Of course this is from our home scale witch is displays in .2 lb increments. So there's a margin of error of course.
That's about 14 oz per week.
She's been a little bit of a pain lately. At first she'd eat, sleep and poop; now she's starting to eat, burp, poop, eat some more, sleep while while feeding, eat some more, burp and then she'd be wide awake ready to absorb the world. Which really sucks at 2 or 3 in the morning. Those are the times when you really want to play with her but cannot physically or mentally keep up with her because you in your own sleep deprived catatonic state.
She likes going on walks. We have a BabyBjorn backpack carrier for her. We highly recommend this product. Isabel really enjoys hanging out with her head buried in my chest hair. If we stop there's a short period of time before she wants to get moving again. I can tell when this is the case by how aggressively she pulls my chest carpet. I could prevent this of course by wearing a shirt. Most of you know that will not be the norm.

That is great Isabel is she packing on the pounds! one less thing to worry about :) I wouldn't ever get to settled in a routine, because once you think you've got one thing figured out the little monkey's change something else! They're continually changing and continually coming up with new challenges for us Mum' and Dad's. But of course they are just so adorably cute it is hard not to give in to them! Im still waiting for a good nights sleep!
ReplyDeleteAnd I think it is so nice that you carry her around in the pouch. I always told Adam that that is exactly how I could picture you with her. She is gorgeous!
